Our Stories

Smart Serve Certification Program
Redwood completely redesigned and rebuilt the Smart Serve Training Program, which certifies anyone in Ontario who serves or sells alcohol - from restaurants and bars to retail outlets. This mandatory certification program serves over 60,000 learners annually.
The new multimedia learning experience features interactive modules, how-to videos, explainer vignettes, assessments, scenarios, and custom games. A standout feature is the program's seamless operation across six languages (English, French, Mandarin, Spanish, Punjabi, and Korean), allowing learners to switch languages at any point without losing their progress.
The redesign dramatically improved user satisfaction, with Google ratings jumping from 1/5 stars to 4/5 stars for the new program. Support calls dropped from 500 per day to less than 40 per day, making the program significantly more efficient to operate. The course is fully accessible (WCAG 2.0 AA compliant) and compatible with all devices, catering to the diverse needs of a young workforce entering the hospitality industry.
The icing on the cake? Winning the Bronze Award from the International eLearning Association!

The Speech and Stuttering Institute (SSI) is a pioneering organization dedicated to helping children overcome motor-speech challenges and stuttering. SSI focuses on three key goals:
- Delivering clinical services:
- Training professionals across Ontario
- Advancing research and treatment strategies
For Redwood, the most meaningful part of this project was closing the gap between children who stutter and the therapists who support them. As with all Redwood initiatives, this one followed a focused, collaborative process over several months, including:
- Defining clear success metrics with stakeholders
- Building a strategic roadmap with iterative feedback
- Ensuring strict confidentiality
- Co-developing scripts, storyboards, and production content
- Creating rich, engaging multimedia assets
- Launching and testing a pilot program
- Refining the content based on real-world feedback
- Hosting the final product on Redwood's secure LMS
After nearly a year of development, the result was a powerful resource with over eight hours of therapeutic content. With a completion rate of over 90%, the program is already making a measurable impact in everyday practice.

Redwood recently designed and produced a course that showcases the power of eLearning in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. Developed by Engineers and Geoscientists BC in collaboration with Indigenous and non-Indigenous experts, the course exemplifies meaningful and inclusive learning.
While every Redwood project gets our full attention, we're especially passionate about those focused on social impact. Few issues are more important to Canadians than Truth and Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples, and we were proud to work with Engineers and Geoscientists BC in their leadership role.
Drawing on our experience in developing learning for public sector employees on Indigenous history and challenges, we embraced a highly collaborative approach. This course brought together voices from government, First Nations consultants, engineers, geoscientists, and volunteer reviewers.
Our shared goal was to create an engaging and impactful eLearning experience that would deepen understanding of Truth and Reconciliation and empower people to reflect that knowledge in their work.
The course has been an unqualified success in helping learners appreciate Indigenous values, viewpoints, and leverage traditional knowledge of land, water, wildlife and ecological systems. As a result, reconciliation and consultation are embedded in project design and delivery from the outset.

Redwood brings deep experience in training focused on the financial sector. Recently, we developed several industry-leading anti-fraud education courses to educate employees and customers of a leading Canadian bank about fraud protection.
Redwood collaborated closely with the bank to design and develop an advanced, innovative, and interactive training course aimed at protecting customers from sophisticated fraud schemes across all banking platforms, including online, mobile, ATM, and telephone channels.
For our team, it was an exciting opportunity: We're not only an award-winning eLearning producer with a track record of hundreds of successful projects to our credit, but we also have deep experience in the financial sector, including previous projects on fraud, bank systems, and anti-money laundering.
The comprehensive training includes immersive simulations that reflect the real-world experience of employees and customers targeted by fraudsters. Learners are empowered in a safe space with the skills and awareness to detect and prevent increasingly sophisticated criminal threats.

CareerForce Skills is an immersive, online workplace simulation designed to develop the six competencies employers want most—communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, data acumen, and resilience. Already used by hundreds of new grads and early professionals, it equips learners with the human skills that power productivity and innovation in today's economy.

At Redwood, we have worked with several healthcare organizations over the years. Along the way, we have gained significant insight into developing learning tools that improve healthcare delivery and the well-being of people. This experience has created perfect synergy for our ongoing work with the Canadian Forces Health Services Training Centre. The program has three overriding objectives:
